Supersalone No.2

Milan Design Week 2021 is now well underway! This year's Salone del Mobile, dubbed "Supersalone," is a culmination of 18 months worth of design innovation. Curated by architect Stefano Boeri, Supersalone thematically focuses on sustainability, flexibility, and new ideas for the next age of design.

High-quality materials and a refined structure define the Beso Dining Table by Artifort. With a wide selection of tabletop options, powder-coat colors for the metal legs and the solid oak beam, this design is simultaneously understated while at the same time stands out.

Designed to fit perfectly at home or within any project context, including reception areas, conference rooms and quick meeting spaces, the Beso Dining Table consists of rectangular and round tables in many different sizes and with myriad finish options.

A distinctive arc silhouette defines the sumptuous upholstery of the Circa lounge from Bensen. The flowing organic shape envelops the body and provides comfort within a small footprint. A responsive webbing seat is concealed within the formed foam and cradles the user. Available in multiple frames and backrest options the highback version implements a geometric headrest and increased upper back support.

Colorful, shiny, round: the Imi table from Pulpo is dedicated to the minimal artist with the same first name. The glazes, handpicked by imi's designer Sebastian Herkner, are fun to use and look at. Each of the handmade ceramic side tables is unique. Available in two sizes and many colors.

The Layer Sofa from Studio HENK is a 70’s inspired design with a contemporary twist. Each element of this statement sofa is built from identical base pieces that can be assembled in a 360° modular layout. With the Layer Sofa you can really sit back, relax and enjoy the soft gradients of luxurious layers while experiencing the comfort and strength of this unique design.

Node+ by LaCividina is a well-structured and complex range of padded pieces, backrests, dividers and accessories.They can be used to design micro-architectural systems that provide the scope for relaxation, work, privacy and socializing, sometimes all at the same time.

The Koki Wire Collection from Desalto is a large family of projected functional lines that move through space, outlining a light silhouette. A large family consisting of chair, stools and sofa, the Koki Wire Collection is designed for the outdoors but also perfect for the interior.

Roundness and comfort. Tradition and innovation. These are the keywords of Orsola, designed in 1970 by Gastone Rinaldi for Tacchini. The new edition stays true to its original spirit but features a latest-generation covering, supported by the rounded chrome metal frame, that gives it an even softer and more inviting look.

Thin lines, light volumes, and transversality make up the Timo collection from LaCividina. Designed for both the contract sector and home, the Timo Dining Armchair combines an essential style with shapes that recall the natural world.

The Victoria Modular System from Tacchini is comprised of 4 elements: an armchair, a corner chair, a chaise lounge, and an ottoman.

The internal structure of a wooden frame with elastic belts gives the Victoria a supported upholstered seat, covered in polyurethane and memory foam. A tubular supporting frame gives this system a floating appearance and creates a quasi crown.

Thanks to its nature, the Victoria can be arranged and reconfigured as desired, depending on the space. This feature makes it particularly suitable for the contract sector.

Bring in a dose of dynamism with Dum Dip s, a collection of vibrant printed curtains designed by Wiebe Boonstra and Marc van Nederpelt of DUM. True to their name, these curtains look as if they've been dipped in dye, creating a color gradation from bottom to top. If the colors look familiar, that's because they correspond to all of Dum's 11 varied wood finishes. Vivid and fresh yellows and greens, dark and subdued or light and dusty grey, dreamy pink or wine red, sophisticated dark blue and black.

For the design of the “Threshold” screen series, Neri&Hu propose a free-standing partition that plays with structure, materiality, and dimensionality. Infilled with various materials including a mirror, rattan and corrugated glass. The screen performs very well as a privacy layer, but its functionality goes well beyond that.

The bold lines that form the frame can appear rather rudimentary when viewed as an elevation, but, in fact, begin to extrude forward as volumes to give added purpose in the form of a drawer or a desk. The three dimensionality here is not only what gives the piece its utility but is also essential to its structural integrity.

The Scissors Coffee Table is a statement piece that is perfect for bold living room, bedroom or office interiors. This coffee table came to life after an intuitive design workshop where Studio HENK’s in-house design team went back to basics. They shut themselves in a room with paper and scissors to experiment with chopped shapes. The result? A unique family of coffee tables. The Scissors Coffee Table is available in a new range of colors which were introduced to suit this edgy design.
