Supersalone No.1

With great anticipation, Milan Design Week 2021 has finally arrived! This year's Salone del Mobile, dubbed "Supersalone," is a culmination of 18 months worth of design innovation. Curated by architect Stefano Boeri, Supersalone thematically focuses on sustainability, flexibility, and new ideas for the next age of design.

Welcoming and protective, Gast is a sofa that was born from the creative mind of the Guatemalan designer Luis Arrivillaga, at his first collaboration with Frag.

In the design of Gast, a soul of classic inspiration, typical of early 1900's sofas, coexists with the irony of the 60's upholstered furniture, reinterpreted in a contemporary key. Gast brings with it the feelings of a big embrace, as if wrapped in a cloud. The modular elements of this sofa transform it into a multifunctional object that is ideal for moments of conviviality and relaxation.

Designed by Federica Biasi, the Huli Lounge Chair is delicate and light in its character inspired by the stylistic features of Nordic design, HULI expresses the passion for quality and detail shared by Frigerio and Federica Biasi. The structure is made of two solid wood: walnut Canaletto or ashwood in the new Frigerio finishes, soon available online.

Kundalini lighting poise table lamp insitu haute living

The Poise Table Lamp is a circle of light and a metal rod. Slender, lightweight and adjustable up to 320 degrees, they can be moved as one to create ever-changing configurations. The solid T-shaped base acts as a counterweight. The rod is placed at a tangent to the circle, in acrobatic or static poses. An invitation for two-way interaction with the light. Designed by Robert Dabi for Kundalini.

A totem that transforms any room into a temple of conviviality. With the Togrul Dining Table by Tacchini, designer Gordon Guillaumier goes beyond the limits of matter to create a table suitable for homes and contract spaces alike. Sinuous and organic like an object shaped by nature. Solid and unmovable like the monuments of ancient civilizations. Togrul’s sculptural base is the perfect synthesis of energy and solidity.

Available in different sizes, the bases in rigid polyurethane are finished in clay, made from 100% raw earth and applied by hand by master craftsmen.

The Twin family from Frag contains two mirrors of different designs and sizes that employ simple circular, oval, and rectangular geometric shapes to embellish and update a traditional look with a sophisticated touch. This mirror collection has a stylishly delicate brass frame that offers graceful support to the mirrors and recalls the elegance of the 1950's. The frame design leaves space between itself and the mirror glass, creating a look of light and airy refinement.

With its organic design, the Glider Lounge by Artifort offers an attractive, relaxed seating experience in lobbies and lounges. The gentle curvature of the upholstery and the myriad of refined details make this charismatic Luca Nichetto design stand out. Harnessing the detailed upholstery techniques to provide unprecedented comfort.

The generous seat with shapely arm wings, the bind joint connecting the frame to the seat shells, the elegant stitching and the rich choice of fabrics and leather lend allure and authenticity to the design. Glider's refined details can be admired from any angle, even from the back, making this armchair a perfect fit for open spaces. It is a perfectly proportioned armchair that will suit any public space and any home.

A compact, rounded seating system designed by Tito Agnoli for Arflex that allows creation of many configurations. Modern design, adapt to both domestic and hospitality spaces.

The 9000 Modular Sofa System is available in an armchair, 2 seat sofa, 3 seat sofa, corner unit, lounge piece, curved unit, and pouf.

Lamina is a dinner table from La Chance relying on the intersection of marble slabs. Designer Hannes Peer drew his inspiration from the conceptual work of architects Claude Parent (France) or John Lautner (US) who liberated architecture from the classic "cubic" spaces and introduced movement through oblique lines in their buildings in the 60's.

The interlocking triangle shaped legs of Lamina gives it both a sense of equilibrium and dynamism.

The Isotta Sideboard was designed by Maurizio Peregalli for Zeus's Supersalone 2021 collection. This sideboard is available in copper black sand-touch and Micaceous grey.

Frigerio poltrona Arianna Umberto Asnago tessuto insieme

Umberto Asnago updates his collaboration with Frigerio by designing a wide range of new products. The seating family is extended with the armchair ARIANNA, with structure in solid wood and body covered either in leather or fabric, which enhances the tailoring manufacturing of Frigerio in the details of the refined stitching tone-on-tone in the leather version. The armrests open up like wings and the body is gently laid on the structures as if it is floating, thanks to a partially hidden fixing. To the sight the armchair matches lightness to the solidity of solid wood and the Frigerio capability to work solid wood in a tailoring way.

The Marmini collection from La Chance was deeply inspired by the work and research of New York artist and art critic Scott Burton. One of Burton's most pivotal early works is Rock Chair where the artist imbued functionally into a two-ton boulder of sierra granite by carving an "L-shape" into it's core. A chair has qualities that one can play with, it is democratic, malleable and comfortable, at the same time a chair can also be intended as an artistic object, a sculpture that always will have a clear and specific use value.

Clear lines and primitive volumes are combined with fine cabinet-making in this iconic chair by Lebanese designer Karen Chekerdjian for Tacchini.

The Elephant Armchair's base is made of turned solid wood, worked and polished to the touch. Designed with longevity and sustainability in mind, it is suitable for any type of environment.
