A former spare room was transformed into a richly layered speakeasy, conceived as a private setting for gathering and conversation. In contrast to the rest of the home, the space embraces a darker, more atmospheric palette, with saturated tones, warm metallic accents, and tactile materials establishing a sense of intimacy.
When a long-time client approached Anneka Pesch of Studio Pesch to reimagine their Wicker Park residence, the brief centered on creating a series of spaces that support both daily living and intimate entertaining. Designed for a young couple with a refined, modern sensibility, the project builds on a two-decade collaboration, resulting in interiors that feel personal, expressive, and tailored to their lifestyle.
Elsewhere, the home balances comfort with clarity. A flexible guest room functions as both a welcoming retreat and a compact home office.
The primary living, dining, and kitchen area remains open and expansive, designed for both everyday use and larger gatherings. Throughout, the interiors reflect a confident use of color, texture, and form, unified by a strong sense of warmth and livability.
