The Playing Games Side Table by Dooq uses essential shapes to play an alluring game of proportion and color which results in the creation of a perfect balance and tension of material and negative space. The absence of figurative shapes allows you to look at this piece from different angles and imagine various things.
Also available is the Playing Games Center Table.
The fundamental principles of sculpture such as orientation, proportion, scale, articulation, and balance, govern the sculptor's approach to their art. Much is true for some designers' work, with the added attribute of practical use. From tables to seating to light fixtures, sculpture-like designs can add an element of playfulness or drama to an interior. Follow the lines and unique forms in these sculptural statements, sure to captivate one's attention.

Designer Kai Linke, who has a high affinity towards Japan, illuminates the traditional "kokeshi" dolls and their lean, oval shape with the Kokeshi Lamp for Pulpo. Bioma is a unique armchair which appears to be sliced from a natural tree trunk, but is actually crafted from fiberglass per the signature production techniques of Imperfetto Lab. Designed by Verter Turroni.

Smoothly flowing along the surface, the PLYN Armchair is an embodiment of soft power. Strength of vast blocks, evoking coastal stones in mind, is soothed with feminine curves.

The Curve Bench is crafted from a single block of solid cedar wood, characterized by the arched shape below the seat surface that enhances the grain and the nuances of the natural material. Any movements, cracks, or changes in the conditions of the wood are essential characteristics of these furnishings and are to be attributed to the natural settling and different environmental conditions. Designed by Brodie Neill for Riva 1920.
Available in three lengths. Also available with optional padded seat.
The Clizia Chair is designed with a cantilevered seat supported by a central stand, a sculpture for sitting on with obvious sculptural, sinuous and flowing lines, seemingly in contrast with the hardness of the stone it is made of. Designed by Angelo Mangiarotti for Agapecasa.
For an abstract form that suggests climbing vines or twisted roots, Oskar Zieta pushes his FIDU technology to previously unimagined majesty. G-Table blurs the line between furnishing and artistic object with its organic tabletop and parabolic base achieved with his signature compressed-air shaping of metal. Defining opulence in a contemporary manner, the table comes in many standout variations—each one a collector’s dream.

Inspired by the forests of Yucatán, the Inez Chandelier recalls the natural architecture and structural folds of the fan palm. Hand-pleated copper shades with rich patinas are balanced by carved alabaster counterweights.
The Inez Chandelier is part of the Inez collection from Rosie Li.
This Laurent Atelier 01 is poetic simplicity at its best. Inspired by the House of Cards game created by Charles and Ray Eames, its composition is meant to appear playful, like modules piled on top of each other in happenstance. Reminiscent of a children’s mobile, it adds depth and movement to the original nomenclature of the Laurent, thus unfolding its full potential.
The Laurent Atelier 01 is part of the Atelier collection from Lambert & Fils.
More than a table, the Clay Table is a sculpture, a perfect union of beauty and harmonious proportions. The meeting of two volumes achieves a perfect balance of one over the other. Designed by Marc Krusin for Desalto.
Available in round or elliptical shape in multiple sizes. Finished for indoor or outdoor use. The Clay series also includes side tables.
“Why can’t light pool, drip, or drape?” asks Alex Josephson, cofounder of Toronto design studio Partisans. One of the answers from the Gweilo (Chinese for ghost) series is the Gweilo Han, a floor lamp with a sculptural form that folds and bends like light rays themselves.
Handmade by Parachilna in Spain, the thermoforming process takes an etched optical-grade acrylic sheet and produces the signature folds and curves while it is molten and still pliable. A metal strip containing an embedded LED is then affixed vertically to the cooled transparent sheet’s edge to diffuse the light across the etchings, amplifying the illumination.
