Spanish wine barrels, with their wide curvaceous form, serve as the inspiration for the Tonella Collection. The sofa and armchair offer fabric or leather cushions wrapped in a quilted exterior. It all sits on a barrel-like wireframe base that is a signature element of the design.
Spanish design house Sancal introduces modern and contemporary design that is overflowing with character. Unexpected shapes, unique materials and colorful upholsteries to create one-of-a-kind residential, hospitality and commercial spaces. The brand made an appearance at the BDNY show in New York last week where they were the talk of the show.
The counter stools are the newest addition to Tonella, and continues Sancal's tribute to the brand's origin in the wine growing region of Souther Spain. The seat is available in a variety of fabrics and leather, and the metal base comes in bronze or nacar-colored epoxy.
As functional as it is decorative, the Totem is uniquely designed as both a stool and a table. The stool version comes in oak, fabric or leather; while the oak tabletop can be stained in multiple shades. Both bases can be lacquered from a wide selection of colors.
The Core armchair is the essence of a contemporary classic. Its generous seat is embraced by a delicate quilted back making it one of the most comfortable chairs in any room.
The Remnant represents the material that the sculptor might have discarded after creating the aforementioned Core armchair, a different yet complementary interpretation of the same form. While the differences are obvious, the Remnant's hollow underside helps make any room feel more open. The design is on display in both our Chicago and New York showrooms.
