JOIN HAUTE LIVING AND LLADRO ON MARCH 14TH!
Unexpected, captivating, unique… this is The Guest, the most ground-breaking Lladró character, conceived by Jaime Hayon for the Spanish artistic porcelain brand. Unveiled at the New Museum in New York last November, The Guest will now travel to Chicago for a special exhibition at the design showroom Haute Living. The opening will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 14th, and will be attended by Rosa Lladró, President of Lladró. The exhibition will be on view at Haute Living for three months and will also include additional pieces from The Fantasy by Jaime Hayon, his first collection for Lladró.
The Guest by Lladró Atelier is an invitation to cutting-edge artists from around the world who will lend a distinctive personality to a singular porcelain being.
This initiative responds perfectly to the aim of Lladró Atelier, a world of new experiences in porcelain. It is an opportunity for the brand’s designers to work hand in hand with outside artists to create new and exciting ideas in porcelain.
The Guest project is a platform for the collaboration of artists from different disciplines with a worldwide leader in the creation and commercialization of artistic porcelain.
This collaboration results in the birth of the first six pieces of this collection. The three large pieces come in limited editions of 250 units and the small pieces in numbered series. These spectacular creations reflect the personal universe of the collaborating designers: Jaime Hayon, together with the American artist, Tim Biskup, and the Japanese Studio, Devilrobots.
As with all Lladró works, the Guests are handcrafted at its workshops in Valencia, following an entirely artisan process. The profound knowledge of porcelain, the specialized technique of the decorating team and the close collaboration with the artists resulted in the creation of pieces unexpectedly amusing and ground-breaking.
