The Republic of Fritz Hansen™ is not merely in the furniture business, it is in the business of creating classics.
The company’s official history begins in 1872, when cabinet-maker Fritz Hansen obtained a trade license in Copenhagen. In 1885, Hansen, along with his son, established a furniture production company. Within a few short years, Fritz Hansen’s order resume included The University Library, Copenhagen City Hall, and The Supreme Court.
In the face of difficulties stemming from World War II and extreme cold snaps that froze many Danish walnut forests, the Fritz Hansen factory continued to expand over time. Designers who would eventually evolve into legends became part of the brand, including Arne Jacobsen and the breakthrough Ant™ Chair in the 1950s.
Since then, The Republic of Fritz Hansen™ has continued to grow and invite new, talented, and inspiring designers to bolster its collection.
Each product in the Fritz Hansen portfolio is designed to be original, pure, and long-lasting. This ensures a timeless, sophisticated look that will unobtrusively complement any space.
From individual city dwellings to high-power international businesses, continue reading to see how The Republic of Fritz Hansen™ can enhance your space.
The Series 7™chair is a staple in the Fritz Hansen catalog. Its distinct shape adds modern elements while still seamlessly blending into this open, airy conference space.
Lego bricks served as Piero Lissoni's inspiration for the Alphabet™ sofa, a completely modular sofa that can be combined in numerous ways. That means it can be customized to fit the needs of any space, whether it's a cozy living room or an expanisve lobby. Just like you'd build a Lego house, each Alphabet "brick" can be a different color, creating an almost infinite amount of possiblites and ensuring a unique piece for every client.
The Essay™ table features a highly geometric shape. It is a simple and elegant addition to any space, merging contemporary design with the warmth of the home or workplace.
The smooth curves of Arne Jacobsen's Swan™ chair make it the ideal spot to relax in a lounge, waiting room, or lobby area. Jacobsen originally designed the Swan for the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. Also pictured in the Royal Hotel lobby is the Egg™ chair, a classical piece that embodies refinement and class.
When paired together, the Analog™ table and Drop™ chair create a soft and inviting dining space. Because the Drop is available in a variety of colors, you can choose to keep a monochrome look, or add just a pop of color, like a burst of orange in an otherwise white room.
