The HAUTE LIVING showroom, located across from the Merchandise Mart in the heart of Chicago's River North Design District, is an integral part of the Chicago design community and a destination for architects, interior designers, consumers and design enthusiasts from all over the world. Our thoughtfully curated collection of furniture and objects represents the very best in Modern and Contemporary design and the highest levels of quality and craftsmanship available today. Known for consistently seeking out and promoting emerging designers and progressive brands, our spacious showroom is continuously refreshed with new introductions from Europe and America, always growing to fit and reflect the fast-paced design landscape.
We are interior product editors who believe good design creates confident, comfortable, genuine environments that enhance and reflect the unique identity of their inhabitants. Haute Living provides comprehensive design consulting for both the US and international commercial, contract, and residential markets sourcing furniture, lighting, flooring, and kitchen & closet systems from a portfolio of the highest quality manufacturers and designers worldwide. Our team works with architects, interior designers, and contractors from initial conception and specification to final delivery and installation with the goal of achieving the most beautiful and cost effective solution to any project.
Jeffery Smith, Founder
Jeffery is the principal owner and brand curator of Haute Living. He founded Haute Living in 2007 to serve as a destination resource for the international architecture and design community, as well as for non-trade consumers. He brings over 20 years of professional leadership experience designing processes and developing resources for instruction and learning for global companies in Europe, South Asia, Africa, and the United States. Jeffery received a Bachelor of Arts in Film, and holds a Masters of Science in Instructional Systems Technology from Indiana University.
Victoria Arruda, Communications Assistant
In her role as Communications Assistant, Victoria assists in the development of Haute Living’s marketing communications. Victoria brings with her a multidisciplinary background; she has previously worked in editorial and marketing settings, writing across platforms for hyper-local newspapers, lifestyle magazines, and blogs, and has experience with digital and social media marketing. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Sociology from Loyola University Chicago.
Jackie Astorga, Design Professional
Jackie brings more than four years of project management experience to her position as a Design Professional at Haute Living. A rich background in a variety of fields, including interior design and law, allows her to anticipate a client's needs and to guide him or her through the sales and design process. Jackie has a Master of Arts in Interior Design from Harrington College of Design.
Rea Nicolaou, Showroom Manager / Design Professional
Rea offers a diverse range of design and sales experience to the Showroom Manager position at Haute Living. Her portfolio as an interior designer includes residential and hospitality projects from Chicago to New York. Rea oversees shipping and order logistics, manages customer relations, and ensures that day-to-day showroom operations run efficiently. Rea earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Interior Architecture and Design from Columbia College Chicago.
Nate Ross, Communications Manager / Design Professional
As Communications Manager, Nate oversees all marketing, brand development, and communications initiatives at Haute Living. Past experiences include designing interiors for commercial and residential clients at his own firm, as well as freelance writing for a number of trade publications. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the International Academy of Design Chicago.
